Our Statement:
At Decorá, we're dedicated to keeping the world around us looking just as good as your kitchen. The same sharp eye that we cast toward the fine details of our cabinets, we also turn toward the environment. The lumber we use, when harvested, has minimal impact on the forest habitat. Our plywood contains renewable wood fibers, and our particleboard is made from 100 percent recycled or recovered wood fibers. From wood chips to computer chips, up to 90 percent of waste in our manufacturing process is reused or recycled. It's not too complicated of a theory - a beautiful world to go with a beautiful kitchen. At Decorá, it's our goal to make sure no matter what Decorá cabinet you choose, your home will have a shade of green.
The Facts:
- The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association has certified Decorá for the Environmental Stewardship Program.
- Our plywood contains renewable wood fiber and patented soy-based resin, with no added urea-formaldehyde resins that could be harmful to the environment.
- Our wood scraps still have a lot of fight left in them. Leftovers are used for animal bedding, boiler fuel, fuel for making clay pipes, roofing tiles and mixed with wax to make fireplace starter logs.
- From wood chips to computer chips, in our manufacturing process, up to 90 percent of the waste that could go into a landfill is reused or recycled.
